Rainy Day Activities

With Spring starting in a few days, we should be expecting many rainy days for the next few months. Rainy days can be fun if you have the right activities, so we’ve compiled a list of activities you can do on the rainy days to come!

  1. Try a DIY Project

DIY’s are the perfect way to make use of a rainy day. You get the opportunity to be creative while making something that will create a better living space. Many of our previous blog posts have DIY recommendations, so if you’re looking for ideas, take a look at some of our other posts!

  1. Have a Spa Day

Turn your rainy day into a self care day! With some bath bombs, face masks, and comfy clothes, you can turn your home into a spa. Everyone needs a day to pamper themselves, and this is one day where you don’t have to worry about doing anything else!

  1. Learn a New Recipe

Most days, we don’t have time to try out a new recipe. On rainy days though, you’re inside and have all of the time you need to try something new! We have a variety of different recipes in some of our blog posts, so check out what we’ve posted in the past!

  1. Make a Bucket List

We all have our dreams of what we want to do in life, and when it’s a rainy day, you might be stuck thinking about what you would rather be doing. Since you’re already thinking about other activities, why not make this an activity in itself! Start giving into those daydreams by planning what you want to do one day.

  1. Do Nothing

Sometimes, doing nothing is the best activity. We often feel like we have to fill our time with exciting or productive activities to be happy, but in reality, you can sit on your phone all day and binge watch some Netflix if that’s what you need. That’s a form of self care in itself!

Fun Activities in Lake Geneva

Lake Geneva has a lot to offer with many historical locations, businesses, and stunning views. To help you decide what you want to do during your next stop in Lake Geneva, we created a list of fun activities that you can try.

  1. Explore downtown Lake Geneva

Downtown Lake Geneva is a place where you can never get bored. At every corner, you’ll find something that you want to try out. Although, it can be hard to choose which boutiques to stop at. Good thing we have a blog post for that as well!

  1. Go to a brewery or winery

Lake Geneva is home to many breweries and wineries. For a brewery to check out, we recommend Topsy Turvey. They have craft beers that are made with the finest ingredients in small batches. For a winery, we recommend The Bottle Shop. They have over 800 wines from around the world that you can buy or enjoy in-store.

  1. Visit the Geneva Lake Museum

Learning can be fun too! The Geneva Lake Museum is home to many artifacts and exhibits that share the long history of Lake Geneva. Learning more about Lake Geneva helps make the town come to life. So next time you’re on main street, take a step back in time at the Geneva Lake Museum.

  1. Have a spa day

After enjoying everything Lake Geneva has to offer, there’s no better way to relax than with a trip to the spa. One of the most popular spas in town is the Grand Geneva Resort and Spa, although they have many other amenities that might catch your interest.

  1. Walk around the trails in Lake Geneva

Lake Geneva is home to many stunning views that are best enjoyed on the city’s trails. The most popular trail is of course the Geneva Lake Shore Path that wraps around the lake that the city gets its name from. For more hiking trails near Lake Geneva, check out our past blog post.

Indoor Activities for Snowy Days

It’s only a matter of time before our sunny days start turning into snowy days. On snowy days, you need to get creative with ways to keep yourself entertained. If you find yourself struggling to keep yourself occupied, then this is the list for you!

  1. DIY’s

DIY’s are an easy way to liven up your house on a day where you can’t go outside. This means adding a little creativity since you won’t want to leave your house to get supplies. The good thing is that most DIY’s require items that you already have laying around your house! Check out our blog post on Thanksgiving DIY’s if you want some ideas!

  1. Write

Days where you have to stay inside are perfect for self-reflection. Taking the time to write in a journal or type out your thoughts is the perfect way to feel productive on days where you can’t do much else. You can also use this writing time to start planning some changes you want to see in your life. If you want to start working out, make a workout plan for yourself and find times in your schedule where you could dedicate yourself to your goals.

  1. Movie night

A list of indoor activities would be incomplete without suggesting a movie night. Though you might not be able to invite your friends over, Netflix has a solution to this problem with Netflix Party! Using Netflix Party, you and your friends are able to watch a movie or TV show while chatting from the comfort of your own homes.

  1. Indoor Picnic

Having an indoor picnic requires all the same items as an outdoor picnic, just without the travel aspect! Make yourself some sandwiches, salads, or even a charcuterie board and enjoy your meal on a blanket placed on the floor. To make this more aesthetically pleasing and comfortable, add some candles and pillows to your set-up!

  1. Cook!

On a snowy day indoors, you have the time to break out some recipes that you’ve been waiting for the right time to try. If you don’t have the ingredients needed to make the recipe you wanted to, then get creative with what you do have! There are a variety of apps that show you recipes based on what ingredients you already have in your pantry. Check out the article linked below for some of these apps!
