Holiday Events in Lake Geneva

With the Holidays coming up soon, there are some events in Lake Geneva that you’ll want to attend before it’s too late! Today, we’ll be going over a few of these events that you won’t want to miss out on. 

  1. Lights and Heated Igloos at Pier 290

If you were sad to hear that the Santa Cruise wasn’t happening this year, then this will raise your spirits! Pier 290 will be displaying lights from the Santa cruise, and while you enjoy the lights, you can enjoy a meal in an igloo or a heated outdoor canopy! Don’t forget to make a reservation to enjoy this opportunity before it ends! 

  1. Brunch With Santa

At The Abbey Resort, they’ll be having Brunch with Santa on December 20th from 10am-1pm. This is the perfect event for any parents that want their kids to meet Santa this year! You’ll want to call in advance to make a reservation to meet Santa while enjoying a nice brunch. 

  1. Sleigh Rides at Dan Patch Stables

Dan Patch Stables has sleigh rides that can comfortably seat 4 adults. To run their sleigh, they need 6-8” of snow, so make sure to keep an eye on the weather! Since reservations fill up quickly, you’ll want to call ahead of time. 

  1. Gingerbread House Walk 

At the Grand Geneva Resort and Spa, there will be a variety of different Gingerbread houses made by area residents for everyone to see! You can vote on which Gingerbread house is your favorite. This Gingerbread House Walk is open Sunday-Thursday from 8am-8pm until December 29th. Make sure you don’t miss out on this fun opportunity!

  1. Parade of Trees

Similar to the Gingerbread House Walk, The Geneva Lake Museum is inviting residents to view a variety of Holiday trees! Guests of all ages will be given a ballot where you can vote for your favorite tree. This event will be ending on January 6th, so you’ll have plenty of time after the Holidays are over to enjoy this event!

Lake Geneva, along with nearby cities, have a lot of great attractions to offer this Halloween. So if you’re looking for some fun and safe ways to enjoy Halloween without staying inside all day, check out some of these Halloween activities. 

  1. Ghost Walks

If you want to find out more about Lake Geneva’s history with a spooky twist, then check out the Lake Geneva ghost walk. This ghost walk is sure to have stories that you’ve never heard before, all while walking around downtown Lake Geneva.

  1. Haunted Hayride

This hayride is first come first serve, so no reservations are required! The event starts at 6pm, but they start selling tickets at 5:45. They also have a new haunted barn attraction this year, so go check out what Dan Patch Stables has to offer!

  1. Corn Maze

If you’re looking for a fun corn maze this Halloween, then Schuett farms is the place to go! They’re open during the daytime, but this year they’re having some weekends where you can go at night. They also have weekly winners for their corn maze, and if you win, you’ll get a bucket of goodies from Schuett farms.

  1. Zipline and Pumpkin Drop

With this fun attraction in Lake Geneva, you can “soar through the air down the Dual Racing Zip Line and aim with a pumpkin to try to hit the center of a bullseye painted on the ground”. You have to have two people to book a time and spots are running out fast, so make sure to set a date soon before this fun offer is done!

  1. Pearce’s Farm Stand

This farm has fresh produce from mid July to October, and even offers fresh donuts and kettle corn every weekend! Aside from fresh produce, they have free wagon rides that you can take to their pumpkin patch along with a corn maze. This is definitely a place that you should check out while they’re still open!

Fall has just begun! That means it’s time to start enjoying those activities that are reserved specifically for fall. If you want ideas to add onto your list of fall activities, this is the list for you! 

  1. Make Apple Cider

Making apple cider is the perfect activity for a day spent inside. Not only will it make the perfect drink for any meal, but it will also make your whole house smell amazing! . We recommend checking out an apple orchard near you to get fresh apples for your cider!

  1. Go to a Pumpkin Patch 

If you have a whole day off, going to the pumpkin patch and heading back home to make a jackolantern is the perfect way to spend a fall day. While you’re cutting your pumpkins, don’t forget to save the pumpkin seeds to make a nice snack!

  1. Have a Scary Movie Marathon  

Everyone has those movies that give them that nostalgic feeling of the fall season. Maybe you want to save some of your favorites for when Halloween is closer, but if you have a few movies that you’ve been wanting to watch, reserve a night to watch a few! This is also the perfect time to sip on your apple cider and snack on some pumpkin seeds. 

  1. Have a photoshoot

If you’ve been looking for an excuse to have a photoshoot, remember that the leaves are only going to be colorful for a few weeks out of the year! Head out to a hiking trail or your local park and you’ll find the perfect spot to take some pictures with the changing leaves.
